Let the Adventures Begin

Warning: There will be a lot of pictures in this post...And I even whittled them down to just a few. I think it will give you a good idea of some of the adventures we have been on as of late though...Here we go...
Derek and I took a trip up to Salt Lake City. We had his 6 month check up and all is well. He is a healthy, happy, and good looking guy.

After the check up we decided to go to Trolley Square for a bit. I had never been there. The mall is pretty empty with stores but it was fun to browse around. We had a little down time before dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory and we had our own little photo booth going on to pass the time. I will spare you with just this one. There are several more embarrassing ones.

After eating at The Old Spaghetti Factory (yummy) we came out to our car to head to our hotel for the night when we found that our car was dead. We had to ask some good Samaratins to help us jump our car. As they did that I was very sneaky and took a few snapshots so we wouldn't forget this part of our adventure.

We warmed up the car a bit and headed towards our hotel for the night. Our whole trip centered around our room that we reserved for this trip at The Anniversary Inn. We LOVED it. Everyone should do this. Each room has a theme and we chose the 49ers suite (like mining not the football team). These pictures don't even do it justice but it was awesome. Not only was the room awesome but it came with a complimentary breakfast brought to our room, and cheesecake and sparkling cider. Oh and I can't forget the complimentary yummy ooey gooey no limit cookies in the lobby. We probably had 10 or more cookies in the less than 24 hours we were there. Here are the pictures, I will explain as we go...

This was the door to our bathroom.
Derek standing next to our awesome shower/tub. Our whole bathroom looked like the inside of a cave. It was AWESOME.
 Our sink/vanity.
You may not be able to tell from this picture but that is water coming from that spigot thing in the wall
The dining area of our room. Just beyond this picture is our bed and our fireplace/TV. ( no pictures for those though...sorry).
This is the breakfast that they brought to our room. It was delicious. Breakfast in Bed :)

After we had to leave our paradise hotel we headed over to Hogle Zoo. Both Derek and I hadn't been there for a long time so we figured it was time we go visit all the animals again.

This giraffe was crazy. We watched him for about 10 minutes and all he did was lick this pole. It was hilarious though.

After the trip to the zoo it was time to head home. We got home and life went about as normal (at least as normal as we get) and then about 5 days later we headed to our next trip... Keate Kamp. We went to our usual cabin that we go to every year and we had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures from that...

We hiked a short hike at Kolob. It was a beautiful view...and pretty windy at the top hence the hair problems.
We played tons of games at the cabin. This one was part of the treasure hunt that the kids did, they had to pass off certain tasks.
We played family Bingo where we read clues about different people and they had to guess who it was and put there marker on that persons picture. (kids really liked that)
We went to the park in New Harmony and played some good ole fry em'
Waiting for the croquet game and obstical course race to begin.
Intently watching the team mates run the course.
Deek chillin in the grass at the park.
We had pinatas for the kids to do at the park
And finally right before we left the park we played a good old fashion game of kickball. We all won.
This is our annual matching shirt Keate Kamp 2013 family photo
And Derek and I in our shirts.

Not included in these pictures was lots of laughs, lots of fun games (including mostly Scotland Yard and Carcassone... After the kids head to bed us adults usually stay up late playing board games and these two games were our favorite this year), lots of yummy food, and some quality family bonding. And by the end of the trip there were lots of crying kids because of lack of sleep...they just had too much fun wearing themselves out playing with cousins.

We are happy to be home. We had a lot of fun but its good to be home and get back in the swing of things again. Today we are celebrating Derek's 25th birthday and there will be more to come with that later. Happy Birthday Deek!

  1. no Fun. My 11yr old Nephew had to get this done a couple weeks ago and it was so sad to see. His were so bad that they said if they were to put braces on him it would just rip his teeth out. I keep hearing of people having to get this done... yuck
